What a fantastic night! I've waited 10 years to see
Stacie Collins play live and she was well worth the wait. She got a great
evening off to a fantastic start. I guess she won a lot of new fans by playing
some of the best barroom boogie I've ever seen.
Dan Baird and Homemade Sin were as fantastic as usual; which makes them 10
times better than the average these days.
Warner E Hodges must surely be the best rock guitarist around now - he can
mess around and still not drop a note.
I recommend anyone who vaguely likes (Country) Rock to hunt them down on
YouTube at the very least - you'll be blown away by the energy guys 'that age'
can produce. |

Just to say thanks for bringing Albert and the guys back
to Bootleggers for another top class performance.
It was a shame to lose Elio Pace from the band, but Gavin Povey seems to be
settling in nicely. |

Catdog were amazing on valentines day. I have seen them
a couple of times in Bootleggers, but they sounded the best I have heard them.
It was so much better to see them since the recent refurbishment. Chris`s
vocals were astounding.ROOOOOCK! |

Saw Dr Rox last night, as usual they were fantastic. I
have seen them twice now, both times at Bootleggers, and both times they
rocked the whole place. How can just 3 guys sound so good. Great drum solo as
well. Really looking forward to seeing them again.
Thanks to the Bootleggers staff for a great night. |

the 28th and he was great also.
See you all again next week for Oasish

The band was totaly amazing!- Once again!! was very
disapointed at midnight though to find that the band stopped and they turned
RADIO 1 on!!!!?? - what was that all about!? I could have listened to radio 1
at home.- A countdown projection on the wall with the band counting it in
would have been far better. |

We travelled from Morecambe through snow and ice to see
Catdog, having heard great things about them. I can tell you we weren`t
disappointed. The band were awesome. I don`t think I have ever seen a tighter
band in a pub anywhere, and the singer had a fantastic voice. Great band,
great set, great crowd. Thanks, we`ll be back next time. |

It was our first time at your venue, and when we picked
up our tickets in the afternoon, I must admit I did have some reservations as
regards the layout but having got a seat on the second row, we couldn't fault
it....an excellent show and the venue worked out fine for us. In response to
the previous post the answer is to get there early and grab a seat! The
building up of the stage would certainly help with the view for those who
couldn't get a seat. We travelled from the Wirral for the gig and will
certainly do it again if you have other artists of the same calibre in the
future.
Thank you very much for your kind comment.
We are starting some of the work this week so hopefully that will help more
people to get a clearer view of the artists. Hope you do find someone
else to tempt you back to see for yourself. |

I think the bar is okay.
However, for listening and watching someone like Gretchen Peters it left a lot
to be desired.
When listening to her you actually needed to see her to engage with the show.
Sadly, I didn't see her at all beyond one glimpse through the strutts of the
upstairs balcony and again at the front door after the show!
I like her music and have seen her before, knew what to expect from her, so my
enjoyment was tempered due to only being able to listen to her, which I can do
at home, without paying for a ticket!!
I think this is something you are probably aware of and can do little about.
What it means is that I won't come to a show there again though -
disappointingThank you for your comment and we
are aware that lines of sight are restricted. We have attempted to remedy this
by fitting video screens throughout the bar so that the artists can be seen
from anywhere on the premises, albeit not directly. However, this is not
a long term solution and we have plans in place to radically alter the
structure of the building, including increasing the height of the stage and
removing pillars with the aim of giving a direct view of the stage for at
least 300 people. Thank you for supporting live music at Bootleggers and we
really appreciate your constructive feedback.
PS We are hoping to Gretchen back at the bar after
the refurbishment. |
